DAY 10
DATE: Friday, August 31, 2012
TIME: 11:36 pm
A. OPENING THOUGHTS/OBSERVATIONS:
Rough day today. Taking the day off of working out but physically I feel great and want to work out anyway. Car bill came in today for over $2,000 of repairs needed just to pass inspection.
Other than that, working on my Course in Miracles text and workbook. Focus here is on quieting my mind of all thoughts and letting intuitive messages come through. I believe we are an extension of God’s thoughts. Therefore when we’re able to quiet the ego’s chatter inside our brains we can find true inspiration from our spiritual selves. One aspect of this line of thought coming through is that life is merely a vivid memory. All things have already happened and living a life is really just seeing a very vivid memory of how things used to be when we imagined that we were once separate from God. This memory is more like a dream, it isn’t the truth. We are all still safe and One with God once realizing this Truth.
B. DREAM ENTRY:
Dreamed about living parallel lives. One where I’ve been living a life in another part of the country surrounded by completely different people. Kind of like the movie “Sliding Doors”. I take this to mean reality is a matter of perception and I’ve made a choice to focus on my life here as Mike Shoeman writing this book. The other lives exist but I’m choosing to be here now and focus on this life. This is where I want to be and where I’m meant to be.
C. The exercise for today will be the same for the next four
days. Start with the emotion you’re feeling at the beginning of your
workout. Start listing anything you associate with the feeling: how,
why, and what.
For instance “Fear”:
I’m afraid of walking into the gym.
I’m afraid of failing.
I’m afraid of quitting.
I’m afraid of physical pain and discomfort.
Do this between each set of your physical workout. List four or five
sentences or, if you’re on a timed rest break, go until your time is up
and continue the thoughts between the next set. When you go on to the
next exercise, convert your statements into the next feeling up on the
list. For instance changing “Fear” into “Desire”.
Fear: “I’m afraid of walking into the gym” converts to (Desire) “I want to make going to the gym a lifelong habit.
Fear: “I’m afraid of failing” converts to (Desire) “I want to succeed with my intentions for starting this program.”
Fear: “I’m afraid of quitting” to (Desire) “I want to finish this 30 day Quest.”
Fear: “I’m afraid of physical pain and discomfort” to (Desire) “I want working out to feel good and productive.”
Full list of emotions are listed on DAY 10 of Your Journal.
